Givaudan x Louvre Abu Dhabi

When Fragrance Becomes Art

Givaudan and Louvre Abu Dhabi came together for a celebration that perfectly blended art, fragrance, and emotion.

Held under the museum’s iconic dome, the event marked 25 years of Givaudan’s presence in the Middle East, and it felt like much more than a dinner it was a complete sensory journey.

Guests began the evening surrounded by “Universal Breeze,” the museum’s new signature scent created by Givaudan perfumers Dalia Izem and Gaël Montero. Inspired by the Louvre Abu Dhabi’s architecture and spirit of openness, the fragrance carried soft, luminous notes that filled the space with quiet harmony.

After this first encounter, guests were guided through a private tour of the museum, discovering nine exclusive scentsdesigned by Givaudan. Each scent was linked to a specific artwork turning paintings and sculptures into olfactory experiences. It was a reminder that both art and fragrance share the same purpose: to move, to evoke, and to connect.

As Gilles shared, “We couldn’t be prouder to introduce this exceptional partnership, fusing the worlds of art and fragrance to facilitate incredible creativity.”

It was a moment that reflected Givaudan’s long-standing vision to treat fragrance not as chemistry, but as culture.

A Meeting of Art and Science

Fragrance, at its core, is invisible art. It carries stories, places, and emotions in a way that words or images cannot.

By bringing together perfumers, artists, and curators, this collaboration showed how scent can become a bridge between disciplines  an expression of both creativity and craftsmanship.

My Reflection

For me, this partnership captures what I find most meaningful in luxury: the meeting point between imagination and intention. It’s not about presentation, but about feeling about creating something that engages all the senses.

Under the dome of Louvre Abu Dhabi, Givaudan reminded the world that art doesn’t always have to be seen. Sometimes, it can simply be felt.
